Product Overview

DR2018 is a highly integrated chip combining a USB Type-C® power delivery (PD) controller and a secondary-side controller for offline AC-DC conversion.

The built-in PD controller includes a BMC transceiver capable of handling USB PD protocol communication via the USB Type-C® port. DR2018 also features a synchronous rectification controller (SRC), which supports active switching in power converters to replace traditional diodes—significantly improving overall power conversion efficiency.

Designed for USB PD systems, DR2018 supports an input voltage range from 3.3V to 20V, covering all voltage levels defined under PD3.0’s five PDO profiles and PPS mode. The chip also integrates two parallel shunt regulators to implement constant-voltage and constant-current control loops. Additionally, an internal digital-to-analog converter (DAC) enables programmable output voltage and power limits based on PD negotiation.
